Dr. Ahmad has one of the largest robotic surgical experiences in the world. He has completed almost 5,000 robotic cases as primary surgeon using the da Vinci robot system. Additionally, he has helped his partners as robotic co-console surgeon in 1,500 additional cases. Dr. Ahmad and his associates for the last 25 years have completed more than 15,000 bariatric cases.
Mather Hospital with Dr. Ahmad is the first Robotic Center of Excellence in New York State and is currently an Epicenter in Robotic Bariatric Surgery where surgeons from all over the world and other parts of the U.S come to learn Robotic Bariatric Surgery.
Dr. Ahmad has presented his techniques at Oxford UK, London UK, and Lyon, France and Luxembourgh. Currently, visitors from other parts of the United States as well as Europe and Asia visit Dr. Ahmad to learn his techniques of robotic bariatric surgery.
During the International Federation of Surgery for Obesity conference, held in Lyon, France, in May 2019, Dr. Ahmad was awarded first place for his presentation on his innovative technique for robotic sleeve gastrectomy.
