After graduating from medical school with honors from Tabriz University, Dr Anoosh completed general surgical training at the New York Medical College. During his residency he rotated as chief surgical resident at Weill Medical College, Cornell University. He then completed a minimally invasive bariatric fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where he accepted the academic appointment of clinical instructor of surgery.
He has performed clinical research in advanced minimally invasive bariatric surgery including single incision laparoscopic procedures, sleeve gastrectomy, gastric banding, gastric bypass, stomaphyx, and robotics and he holds the academic position of assistant professor of surgery at Hofstra University. In 2011 he joined Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center to provide the latest in the laparoscopic approach for operative management of patients suffering from clinically severe obesity. In January 2018, Dr Anoosh joined Dr Ahmad at Long Island laparoscopic Surgery as an associate in the practice.
